Sandra Ceres Weston * September 17, 2023

Funeral services for Peterborough NH

Sandra Ceres Weston, 88 years old, died peacefully in her sleep on September 17, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia in 1935 and was raised in a naval family by her father Captain Frederick Ceres USN and her mother Marie Ceres. During WWII they moved to the small rural town of Hancock, NH where her father sought safe harbor for his family. Sandra attended Hancock Elementary School and  graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart, Newton, MA in 1956. It was remarkable that Sandra found her husband of 67 years, Howard H. Weston in her hometown of Hancock, population less than 1,000. Sandra married the same year of her college graduation and moved with her husband to the NH seacoast. They raised their family of three children in North Hampton, NH and then returned to Hancock in 1983.

In 2020 they moved to RiverMead in Peterborough NH. Sandra was a founding member of the Seacoast Tennis Club and a member of the Monadnock Indoor Tennis Club where she was an avid league player. She was an elected trustee of the Hancock Cemetery Committee. Her love of music lead her to sing in the Music on Norway Pond Chorus. Sandra also had a wonderful sense of adventure as a world traveler, sailor and skier and was a talented gardener. But she shall be forever remembered for her enduring dedication to her husband and three children, always putting needs of others before her own. She was predeceased by her siblings, Frederick L. Ceres and Maria Bonnardot. She is survived by her beloved husband, Howard H. Weston, her brother, Captain Robert L. Ceres USN Ret. and wife, Margaret, son, John K. Weston of Newburyport and wife, Jayne, daughter Jennifer W. Germain of West Newbury, MA and husband, Mark, son H. Frederick Weston of York, ME and wife, Joanna, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be at Devine Mercy Catholic Church, Peterboro, NH  onSeptember 23, 10:00 am,  followed by Burial at Norway Plains Cemetery, Hancock, NH and a reception at the Meetinghouse Hall, 50 Main St, Hancock.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Catholic Charities NH or The Harris Center of Hancock NH.
