HILLSBORO, NH: Philip C. Sullivan, 94, resident of Hillsboro, NH died on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Hillsboro House after a period of declining health.
He was born on February 23, 1929, in Portland, ME, a son of the late Patrick and Margaret (Cooney) Sullivan.
Philip was raised in South Portland, Maine. He graduated from Cheverus High School in 1947, attended UNH for two years and then joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in June of 1956. Philip met his loving wife, Marion, in 1958 and they were married for nearly 60 years when his wife passed in August of 2019.
Phil and Marion raised their family in Weare, NH. His entire career was spent with AT&T. After retirement, Phil and Marion lived in Swan’s Island, ME for 20 years, until moving back to NH, to be closer to family for their senior years.
In addition to his parents, Philip, was predeceased by his loving wife, Marion Sullivan, his two sons, Thomas and Steven Sullivan and his grandson, Sean Sandmann.
Philip is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Randy Sandmann of Weare, NH, grandson, Ryan Sandmann (wife Michelle), granddaughters, Kristy Townes (husband Eldon) and Katy Aucoin (husband Mitchell). Philip also has five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hillsboro, NH. All are invited to meet directly at the church. Private burial will be held in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH at a later date.
