HILLSBORO, NH:  Ernest Eugene Gould, Sr. passed away May 26, 2023 at the Jaffery Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jaffrey, NH.

He was born on November 16, 1928 in Hillsboro, NH, the son of Judson and Gladys Colburn Gould. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Markley Gould, brothers, Lester Gould, Everett Hackett, and Clifton Hackett, sister, Grace Avery, and son-in-law, James Croteau.

He is survived by his son, Ernest (Gene) Gould and his wife, Laura Gould of Hillsboro, NH, his daughter, Linda Croteau of San Antonio, TX, his brothers, Joseph Gould, Woanda (Pat) Gould, and Dwight Gould and his wife, Yvonne Gould all of Hillsboro, NH, and brother, Richard Gould and wife, Delores of Mitchell, SD, his sisters, Beatrice Nyberg of Franklin, NH and Edith Austin of Loudon, NH, granddaughters, Jennifer Boudrieau and husband, Mark Boudrieau of Wilton, NH, Jessica Granger and husband, Edward Granger of Hillsboro, NH, Janet Walters of Carrizo Springs, TX, his sister-in-law, Peggy Gould of London, NH, and his great-grand, children Makayla Granger of Hillsboro, NH, Katelynn Wilson of Stafford, England, and Dyami Sonora of Carrizo Springs, TX.

Ernie, as he was known to all, served in the Army from 1947-1950, and then enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1950-1954. He is a lifetime member of the Hillsboro Post 59 American Legion.

He is a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hillsboro and holds their gold cane as the longest membership in the Masonic Lodge which was 70 years this year as he joined the Masonic Lodge in 1953. He is a past Master of the Valley Hi Masonic Lodge in San Antonio, TX.

He was a longtime volunteer for the Hillsboro site of the St. Joseph Community Services meals on wheels program, and in 2015 he received the Hillsboro County Joseph D. Vaughan award for volunteerism.

He was an active member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and we ask that those who would like to do something in remembrance of him send donations in his name to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10 am at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, NH.

Burial will follow in Maple Ave Cemetery, Hillsboro, NH.
