CONTOOCOOK, NH:  Arlene M. (Fisher) Conaway, 90, of Contoocook, NH died January 11, 2023 at Granite Ledges in Concord, NH.

Arlene was born June 19, 1932, in Henniker, NH,  to the late Edward M. Fisher, and Blanche M. (Searles) Fisher. She was also predeceased by her son, Vincent H. Conaway. Arlene lived most of her life in Contoocook, NH.

Arlene was a person who enjoyed the simple things in life such as gardening, music, braiding rugs, sewing, and knitting hats, sweaters, baby clothes, and blankets. She was always a very generous person and made gifts of many of the things she created.

Arlene co-founded the Hopkinton Town Band, when she was in her mid thirties and played trombone well into her seventies.  She was also a long-standing member of the United Methodist Church in Contoocook New Hampshire and enjoyed singing in the choir for 40+ years. She was also a member of the Riverside Rebekah Lodge Number 22 in Contoocook, New Hampshire for many years enjoyed association with other members.

She is survived by her son, David O. Conaway, and his wife, Diane S. Conaway, 

three grandchildren, Sean M. Conaway, Tyler O. Conaway and Caitlin A. Cunningham,

and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Conaway

There won’t be any formal services held, and in lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity on her behalf.
