HILLSBORO, NH:  Edward Oliver Tasker, 81, of Hillsborough, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord, on March 9,  2022. 

Born March 24,1940 to the late John B. and Catherine (Kay) Tasker, Eddie suffered a brain injury at birth that left him with lifelong cognitive and speech impairment, but he overcame these difficulties, learned to read, lived independently, got his drivers and boating licenses, and worked at Sylvania, retiring in 2006.

Much loved for his impish sense of humor, helpfulness and friendly curiosity, Eddie enjoyed taking folks waterskiing on Pierce Lake, going for drives, shopping, meeting up with friends at Dunkin Donuts or McDonalds, checking out new construction in the area, and keeping up on local news and events.  

Ed was predeceased by his sisters, Carol Day of Goffstown, NH, Janet Chang of Wichita, KS, and nephew, Douglas Chang of Phoenix. AZ. 

He is survived by his brother, John B. Tasker Jr., now of Washington DC,  many nieces and nephews and their children, and best friend, Beth Lewis of Hillsborough. 

The family will be forever grateful to Douglas Hatfield and Patricia Power of Upton & Hatfield LLP for their warm and supportive enabling of Ed’s independence, and also to Suzanne Weaver and team at Havenwood Heritage Heights for keeping him safe and happy, even during this challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

A burial service will be held May 9^,  2022 at the Maple Avenue cemetery in Hillsborough lower village.
