EAST WASHINGTON, NH:  Cheryl Ann (Ashley) Houghton of Washington, NH passed away peacefully in her home with her dog Beeb by her side on September 15, 2021.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Kevin Lawrence and his girlfriend Monique, Jane Thayer and her husband Edward, Diane Chaski and her husband Steven, Gary Lawrence, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, her two siblings as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was predeceased by her loving husband, James Houghton, her sons, Timothy Lawrence, Brian Lawrence and Jeff Lawrence, her daughter, Joanne Houghton, and her grandson, Joe Lawrence.

Cheryl was involved in her community her whole life. She liked contributing food for special town occasions and was in the process of sewing new curtains for the Washington Fire Department to replace ones she made 30 years ago. In earlier years she loved trips to Peaks Island and camping in the Berkshires. More recently, her focus was spending time with family and friends, but she especially enjoyed Sunday family dinners which will continue for years to come. 

We believe we have found her secret homemade donut recipe. Whether we can duplicate it to her standards remains in question.  We will miss her dearly but take comfort in knowing that she is back in the arms of her loving husband.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation service is assisting the family.
