ANTRIM, NH:  Dorothy Claire Durgin, 88, of Antrim, NH passed away May 12, 2021 at the Jaffery Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jaffery, NH.  

Dorothy was born September 3, 1932 in Oakland, RI  to the late Victor and Alida (Paquette) Brissette.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Gerald E. Durgin, who died in 1990. Dorothy moved to NH as a young woman, where she married and raised her family. 

Many will remember her upholstery business which she did for many years.  She was also an active member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bennington, NH and more recently of the Divine Mercy Parish in Peterborough.  Her children and grandchildren will remember her generously baking cookies, pies and mincemeat squares, especially during the holidays.  She loved the outdoors spending many peaceful hours in her flower beds.

Dorothy’s family was most important to her.  She leaves behind her seven children, Sister Juanita Durgin, Jo (Durgin) Mercier-Sommers, Gerald E Durgin II, Tammelda (Durgin) Atherton, Kevin Durgin, Richard Durgin, Shawn Durgin and their spouses as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm at The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 32 School St, Hillsboro, NH.

A funeral mass in her honor will be held at Saint Mary’s Church in Hillsboro, NH on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10 am. 

Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery Hillsboro, NH. 

In lieu of flowers, please plant a flowering bush, plant or tree in her honor as they brought her great joy.
