HENNIKER, NH: Betty A. Spahl, 83, a resident of Henniker, NH died at her home on August 18, 2021 after a long battle of cancer.
She was born on November 28, 1937 in Worcester, MA, a daughter of the late Frances and Anna (Ciginskas) Boucher.
Betty was formerly from the Worcester MA area and moved to Wilmington, MA with her husband of 60 years, Raymond Spahl. They raised three children and were very involved in their community. In the 1970's they bought a tiny cottage on Cape Cod where she summered with her children and entertained countless family and guests. In 1995, they retired to Newbury NH, (Blodgetts Landing). Betty again embraced the area and was part of Newbury’s beautification committee. She was a COA. of New London and also volunteered at the Fells.
If you knew Betty, you knew someone who loved life. She loved to throw parties, and loved music, singing, and cooking. She lived with the mottos "the best of times are now”, “live in the moment” and “rejoice in what you have.”
She leaves behind son, Gary Spahl, two daughters, Karen Robito (husband Rodney Robeto), Lisa Spahl (husband Marc Aucoin) and five grandchildren, Isaac Winant, Molly Winant, Amos Winant, Madison Robito and Jordan Robito. She leaves us with a love of singing to our favorite songs with a glass of wine (but with everyone in a different key.)
In accordance with Betty’s wishes no services will be held at this time.
The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
