HILLSBORO, NH:  David Leon Holmes, age 60, of Hillsboro, NH died January 2, 2020 at his home. 

David was born in Concord, N.H, on November 7, 1959 to Donald L. and Anna M. (Putnam) Holmes. He is predeceased by his father, Donald. 

He worked for many years as a mechanic for Osram Sylvania in Hillsboro before his retirement. David was a 28-year member of the Hillsboro Fire Department and was Fire Chief for eight years. 

Survived by his mother, Anna M. (Putnam) Holmes of Florida; one son, Jason Holmes of Eagle River, AK; two sisters, Vickie (Beeb) and her husband John Moore of Hillsboro, NH and Barbara Hurley of Florida; one brother, Terry and his wife Sharlene Edwards of Hanover, MA; five nieces, Mollie Moore of Highgate, VT, Meghan Hurley and Cassidy Hurley of Florida, Alison Lapre of NC, and Chellis Kirkland of Newfields, NH; one nephew Zachary Moore of West Hartford, CT. 

A Celebration of David's Life will be held Friday, February 14, 2020 from 12 to 4 pm at the American Legion Post #59 in Hillsboro, NH. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Hillsborough Rescue Squad.
