Jeanette P. Patten

Jeanette P. Patten

CONCORD, NH:  Jeanette Page Patten, age 57, passed away peacefully with her loving husband, Robert A. Patten, by her side on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Hospice House in Concord, NH following a sudden illness.  She was born on August 4, 1961 in New London, NH and grew up in Bradford. She is survived by three sons, Jason and his wife Nicole, Brandon and Anthony, her two step-daughters, Jamie and Robyn and six grandchildren, Logan, Hannah, Emma, Kaie-Lee, Kellan and Hadley.

Jeanette was a graduate of Kearsarge Regional High School. After joining the workforce, she obtained her Associates Degree in Business Administration, with classes from both Northeastern University and Granite State College. She worked for NH DOT, NH Retirement and the State Police in the Support Services Office. She was currently employed working at the Adjutant General’s Office for the New Hampshire National Guard. She had a combined service for the State of New Hampshire of over 30 years. She was successful in her work, but her family was the center of her world.

Jeanette volunteered with the Scouts for years, even after her sons earned their Eagle Scout ranks. She enjoyed crafting and decorating, and her siblings, nieces and nephews recall her making her own wedding gown and the dresses for her bridesmaids. She took time every year with her family to go camping, and loved trips to the beach in Wells, Maine.

Jeanette loved light houses, movies, scented candles, a variety of music (especially the golden oldies) and all things beautiful. She found the good in most things and would often be a guiding light for anyone who needed a helping hand in times of grief and in need of encouragement.

Her friends and family recall her pleasant and contagious laugh and welcoming personality. Her empathetic nature and optimism were of some of her brightest qualities, passed on from her mother, Ruth. Her wisdom was well beyond her years and she was always there to let you know things were going to be alright when times became gloomy.

Jeanette found comedy in most things and would enjoy sharing experiences, sometimes about her own clumsiness and self-proclaimed moments of being a “space cadet.” None of these stories ever grew old, and she always shared them with the same bubbly energy.

Jeanette loved her grandchildren and came from a large family. She was the youngest of the eight children of Charles and Ruth Page. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Thomas Page, Mary Seymour, John Page, Francis Page and Anthony Page as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Charles Page, sister, Annie Cash, sisters-in-law, Betty Page and Geri Page; and brothers-in-law, Dick Seymour and Robert Cash.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Concord Regional VNA, Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St Concord, NH 03301.

Calling Hours for Jeanette will be held Friday, July 5thfrom 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be held from 11:00 am to Noon. Both services will be held at the Saint Theresa’s Catholic Parish, 158 Old West Hopkinton Road, Henniker, NH.

A private burial at the Veterans’ Cemetery in Boscawen, NH will be held at a later date.
