CONTOOCOOK, NH:  Robert H. Smith, 85, longtime resident of Contoocook, NH diedon March 7, 2018 at Pleasant View Genesis Nursing Home, Concord, NH after an extended period of declining health. 

Born February 8, 1933 in Concord, NH to the late Leroy C. and Eugenia (Lessard) Smith, he was also predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Barbara A. (Coen) Smith, a son, Andrew C. Smith, two brothers, Orris C. Smith and Dean L. Smith, and a grandson, Daniel (Dana) N. Krzyzaniak of Contoocook, NH. 

He was a Purchasing Agent for Kingsbury & Davis in Contoocook, NH for many years, and was also employed by A & B Lumber, HMC Corp, and OD Hopkins Associates.  Bob also was a member of the Kearsarge IOOF Lodge #23, Valley Pomoma Grange Lodge #216, American Legion Post #81, all of Contoocook, NH, and the VFW Concord, NH, and the Contoocook Sno-Mads Snowmobile Club. 

Bob loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed cutting wood, camping, snowmobiling, gardening, fishing and hunting. He treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Survived by his daughter, Linda J. Fraser, of New Port Richey, FL, his son, Jerold S. Smith, of Boscawen, NH, a brother, Erwin W. Smith, of Webster, NH; three sisters, Geraldine D. Dean, and Virginia G. Kelley, both of Concord, NH, and Lorraine D. Smith, of Contoocook, NH; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Contoocook Village Cemetery, Contoocook, NH. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Town of Hopkinton Human Services Energy Account (Wood Bank), in Memory of Bob Smith, 330 Main St., Hopkinton, NH 03229.
