HILLSBORO, NH:  Mary K. (Arvanetaki) King 94 of Hillsboro, NH passed away in her sleep at the McCoy Home for the Elderly in Newport, NH, on July 15, 2018. She thoroughly enjoyed her year and half at McCoy’s and had made many friends. 

Prior to that Mary lived at the home of her brother and his wife, George and Estelle Arvanetaki of Hillsboro, NH. 

She was born on September 21, 1925 in Hartford, CT, to the late Costas and Fannie Arvanetaki. Mary was one of five siblings, three sisters deceased with one surviving brother George of Hillsboro, NH. Mary attended the Lawrence Street Elementary School and Hartford Public High School of Hartford, CT, graduating in 1943. After high school she worked many years in the insurance industry. Upon moving to Chicago, Illinois, Mary marred Michael King, Captain, and U.S.A. veteran, deceased and their one daughter, Joy King, is also predeceased. 

Mary was employed by the Make A Wish Program for over 20 years. Mary could speak fluent Greek and was a strong and faithful member, for over 40 years, of the Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago.  There, she volunteered much of her free time during those 40 years working on the many activities at the Church. 

Mary was survived by her brother, George and his wife Estelle Arvanetaki; two nephews, Chuck Zelinsky of Champaign, Illinois and Dennis Zelinsky of Dubuque Iowa; four nieces, Christine Tarrio and her husband Rich of Greenfield, NH, Dianne Wyeth-Hadley and her husband Brian of Jefferson, VT, Barbara Arvanetki of Connecticut and Anne Arvanetaki of Colorado. 

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Chicago, Illinois, for burial next to her husband and daughter.
