CONTOOCOOK, NH:  Richard T. Simms 69, of Contoocook, NH died Friday, February 10, 2017 at his home. 

He was born January 29, 1948 in West Point, NY to Charles W. and Ann (Hildebrandt) Simms.  Richard was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Simms and brother Charles W. Simms, Jr. 

He graduated high school in Wheaton, MD, Class of 1966, and the University of Maryland, Class of 1970. 

Richard taught school in Maryland for many years before his retirement. 

He is survived by his mother, Ann (Hildebrandt) Simms of Contoocook, NH, a brother, Robert T. Simms and his wife Margaret (Miller) Simms of Lake Zurich, IL, sister-in-law Kathy Jean (O'Brien) Simms of Port Tobacco, MD, and seven nieces and one nephew: Kristen, Whitney, Heather, Kourtney, Ashley, Conner, Caitlin and Clare. 

Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  

The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Henniker, NH is assisting the family.
